Here are a few photos of the yard and runs at Wild Wind, along with photos of some of our other farm animals. Summer and Winter look very different in North Dakota! Updated 1/2003

Wild Wind Kennels is located on 19 acres in the middle of prime North Dakota farmland. We are surrounded by wheat, sunflowers, canola, and soybeans. We are fortunate to have a lot of trees, pasture, and 2 man-made waterholes that are home to Canada geese, wild ducks, salamanders, frogs and even a big Blue Heron.

Our kennel is an 18' tall..40' by 40' fully insulated building. We have hot water pipes under the floor so it is wonderfully warm in the winter. We have inside/outside pens with dog doors on 3 sides of the building, so dogs can go in and out as they please. We are currently working on an addition to the south so we can have an office, and grooming area that is separate from the kennel.

None of our dogs are kept in wire bottomed cages. They all have large, open pens that are bedded on shredded paper. We often have people ask, "Are your puppies raised in your home"? ......and we tell them ..."If they were...they would be alone..as we are always in the kennel" !

We enjoy planting trees and bushes in our yard. If you like mowing the lawn or shoveling snow you can have a wonderful time here. Our house yard is fenced in chain link and the puppies are carried out to run in the yard when the weather is nice.

We added a vine covered deck this year but it seems to have gone to the dogs....as they are usually on the deck.

I used to groom dogs...and also board some for customers..so it seemed natural to raise a few puppies when we were asked for certain breeds. We have added the breeds that we enjoy and also that are popular.
Wild Wind Kennel also is home to a lot of domestic rabbits that have the run of the place and love to torment the dogs by sitting just outside the pens. We also keep a small group of Miniature Donkeys....for no other reason than they are cute ! We have a pair of Peafowl, Guineas, a raccoon, and a pair of Prairie dogs. The Muscovy Ducks are colorful and love to eat grasshoppers, flies, and boxelder bugs.

Our kennel is open to the public and especially on weekends....we have lots of visitors. Please call for an appointment to make sure we are home. Our puppies are always friendly and played with a lot. We do not sell to pet shops, brokers, or research centers....only private, individual families. Since we live in the middle of nowhere...we do ship our puppies and they have all arrived to their new families just fine. We have many wonderful references from our buyers that we are glad to send to you. You can expect interest and aftercare in any puppy that comes from Wild Wind Kennel. Please let us know how we can help you.
I do send a LOT of emails every day. If you email me..please include all information in each email....so I know what breed, and birthdate of puppy we are talking about. Thank you for your interest in Wild Wind Kennel puppies!
